Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

Mr Wiqas Ahmad is a youth activist who is worked for advoacy of health and human rights. He established an organization by name of HRO at age of 17. He was closely engaged with puplation Welfare depart , Youth Peer Education Network and several other youth led initiatives working for women health, family planning. He organized seveal sessions, seminars, workshops and theaters for awareness in Northen Pakistan where people don’t have acess to information about Health, SRHR, family planning services. He engaged Youth, Teachers, parents and community elders in social dialogue on health issues.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Living in a community where young people don’t have access to right information and mostly believing those false gossips which lead them to more complex health problems. So started own organization at age of 17 where we discussing young people about the health and as in the same community girls mostly marrying below age of 15 so we start educating parents on better health, other health complexes due to young age pregnancies

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

In 2015 I lead My Right My Voice project in a war thorn province of Pakistan, It was funded by Oxfam Navib and operated by Chanan Development Association. I engaged more than 10,000 young people, teachers , religious scholars, Politicians in different workshops to discuss the SRHR , Early child Marriage , family planning.

In Tribal area’s of Pakistan people don’t have electricity and don’t have access to information so I used theatre as tool to promote awareness about Family Planning.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :
