Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.
In terms of family planning, I have made enough achievements including the establishment of a network of young SR / PF ambassadors today with 180 young leaders who in turn are doing advocacy and advocacy activities. part of the implementation of the project “Bangué Kolossi Nyèta” (Promotion of Family Planning) I set up 24 schools of husbands with 312 students. The school of husbands is a group of men who talk about planning to men and refer women to Family Plan services. These men then sensitized 189412 persons, including 124302 women who had received family planning services in 2018. I also contributed through MS call center to inform 11610 including 3679 boys and 7931 girls. Of these, 212 received post abortion care services and 4010 girls aged 15-24 benefited FP method in 2018.
What sparked your passion for family planning?
What made my passion for FP so decisive is my love for the well being of women and children.
In Mali the maternal mortality rate is 368 per 100,000 NV, unmet need in Family Planning 26%, contraceptive prevalence is 9.9%, and 7% in 15-19 year old girls. Adolescent girls constitute 18% of all women of childbearing age and contribute 14% to overall fertility. In addition, 17% of teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 give birth each year. So it is necessary to act which has pushed me.
Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:
1.As a young leader I participated in many high-level family planning conferences including ICPF, LONDON FP2020, OUAGADOUGOU PARTNESHIP MEETING, OOAS, …
2.I also received the honorary distinction of the champions in family planning awarded by the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene Mrs. Togo Marie Mdelaine under the high presidency of the first lady.
If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work?
Yes if I am designed, I will use this new platform because it will help me in my work. I already have this $1000 experience with International Youth Alliance for Family Plannig that I won in 2017. I will do small projects of advocacy for village leaders for their commitment to family planning.
I am looking forward to organizing strategy activities with MS Ladies who are midwives we have trained to provide family planning services in the most remote areas with vulnerable populations.
