Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I EDUCATE YOUNG AND SEXUALLY ACTIVE PEOPLE AND HIV INFECTED WOMEN IN MY COMMUNITY ON IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY PLANING
REFFER THEM TO A HEALTH CENTER WHERE THEY GET STARTED ON METHODS, IF NEED BE
I DO DISTRIBUTE THE CONDOMS BOTH MALE AND FEMALE.
I DO HEALTH TALK AT KARIOBANGI SOUTH HEALTH CENTER
I DO ORGANIZE YOUNG MOTHERS MEETING AND DISCUSSION ON FAMILY PLANING WHERE WE DISCUSS I SUES ON MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTION TOWARDS FAMILY PLANING AND ALSO COMING UP WITH THE FACT AND ALSO APPRECIATING THOSE WHO WERE REFERRED AND ARE ON THE METHOD SO THAT THEY CAN ALSO EDUCATE OTHERS ON THE BENEFITS.
I ALSO HELP WIVES TO ENCOURAGE THEIR HUSBAND AND ALSO TO SUPPORT THEM TO CLINIC SO THAT THEY CAN GET THE DOCTORS TO INTERACT WITH THEM ON FAMILY PLANNING METHODS.
I DO FOLLOW UPS,MAKE REMINDER ON THE DAY

What sparked your passion for family planning?

I USED TO GIVE BIRTH YEARLY BEFORE I GOT INFORMATION ON FP,THE HEALTH OF MY KIDS WAS DOWN AND EVEN GIVING EDUCATION WAS A PROBLEM,THEY SUFFERED MULNUTRITION AND SOME ALSO DIED,MY HEALTH WAS DOWN AND THOSE OF MY WOMEN FRIENDS,I WAS WORRIED DUE TO WHAT I WAS HEARING PEOPLE SAY ABOUT FAMILY PLANNING, AND I HATED IT MUCH. WHEN I GOT THE REAL INFORMATION AND STARTED THE METHOD AND GOT THE BENEFIT I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD TO EDUCATE OTHERS SO THAT WE CAN REDUCE MATERNAL DEATHS IN KOROGOCHO WHERE I LEAVE

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your family planning efforts, and what have you done to overcome it?

IVE CAME ACROSS WOMEN WHO DO NOT ACCEPT LONG TERM METHODS DUE TO MYTHS THAT THEY HAVE HEARD,
I DO TRAINING ON FACTS ON FAMILY PLANNING AND ALSO SHARE MY STORY WITH THEM,WHEN THEY CAME TO AGREEMENT I REFFER THEM TO KARIOBANGI HEALTH CENTER WHER THEY GET STARTED ON THE METHODS.I ALSO DO FOLLOW UPS TO THEM AT HOME.ALSO TO SOME MEN WHO DO NOT LIKE THEIR WIVES TO USE THE METHOD I TALK TO THEM AND INTRODUCE MALE CONDOMS TO THEM AND ALSO TELLING THEM ABOUT VERCECTOMY FOR MEN.I ALSO DO TRAIN ON FACTS

What is your (country/region/city)’s biggest challenge in family planning, and how can it be addressed?

OUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS THAT SOME WOMEN ARE VERY MUCH AFFRAID TO USE METHODS LIKE PIILS AND THEY WOULD WANT TO USE FEMALE CONDOM WHICH IN MY REGION GETTING THE FEMALE CONDOMS TO GIVE TO THEM ISNT EASY AT TIMES

What do you want to accomplish in the next 5 years?

IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS,IWOULD LIKE TO HAVE FOUGHT AND ERADICATE MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTION TOWARDS FAMILY PLANNING.
I WOULD ALSO WANT HUSBANDS TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THEIR WIVES TO THE CLINIC GET THE METHODS AND ALSO SUPPORT THEM WHEN IN THE FIRST WEEK WHEN THE METHOD IS NOT USED TO THEIR BODIES YET
I WOULD WANT TO SEE NUMBER OF MEN INFORMED ON THE BENEFITS OF FAMILY PLANNING AND ALSO USING THEIR METHOD AND ALSO EDUCATING OTHER MEN ON THE FACTS ABOUT FAMILY PLANNING AND ALSO REFFERING MORE MEN
