Md. Irfan Hossain
I am involved in an intervention aimed at improving Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Family Planning (FP) knowledge and behaviors of female factory workers in urban areas of Bangladesh. My goal is to ensure effective workplace for female garment workers through the use of implementation science—the strategic generation, translation, and use of evidence. Previously, I was affiliated with a study to generate evidence that community based interventions at Dhaka slums. Our study revealed that Modern contraceptive use increased when men were engaged. I also worked in a RH program to introduce Medical Menstrual Regulation (MRM) service in Bangladesh. We found it to be feasible to introduce MRM services in Bangladesh as more than 80 percent women seeking MRM in the government facilities.
