Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

MY vision of success is that all women and men in developing countries know about and have access to quality family planning. I support voluntary family planning as a means to meet the needs of men and women and to significantly reduce maternal and infant deaths. At the global level, my strategy seeks to revitalize family planning as indispensable to achieving the Millennium Development Goals. I am currently investing in raising
awareness of the importance of family planning among donors, country governments, and the private sector; enhancing the efficiency of contraceptive procurement and distribution; and engaging donors, governments, and civil society to better coordinate efforts and increase resources to fund family planning and more awareness through my talent in arts.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

What sparked my passion for family planning is that some women have misperceptions about their risk of becoming pregnant, while others have concerns about the side effects of modern contraceptive methods. In some cases, opposition from husbands or family members may discourage contraceptive use. Lack of access to an adequate mix of modern contraceptives is another barrier. My objective is to address barriers to nonuse and accelerate the uptake of contraceptives in southern Africa SADC.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I am currently a coordinator in Thapong Visual Arts center for hosting the art exhibition shows and inviting Schools and Tertiary Institutions to showcase their ART works in campaigning for family planning education and strategies and officials do come and appreciate the messages from this artworks and the society too and all is at aim of learning about family planning and other Gender issues in out country. I do most interviews on radio shows about Gender, Sexual reproduction health.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

I would use this funds to help establish and grow more talent of the sexual Minority, Women and children and under privileged and host a big exhibition show that works on producing different arts e.g performing arts, visual arts, literature arts that mostly educate on issues of HIV/AIDS and Family planning and working together with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Youth, sport and culture to make this event a success and fund raising for community projects and making this event national event.
