Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I have engaged key policy makers and implementors in formulating the Cost Implemented Plan on Family Planning (CIP-FP) 2014. This plan has aided and caused change to the family planning story in Uganda. Besides that, I have trained my fellow young people in issues pertaining their family planning especially contraceptives for the youths in Uganda. This has been possible with the help of partners such as Reproductive Health Uganda, MSH Uganda among others. I have additionally, reached out to young people in rural areas including refugees with accurate information on family planning and contraception use in Kampala, Moroto, Kotido, Wakiso, Apac and Kalangala districts in Uganda. It's through these activities that I have been able to share my knowledge on family planning and SRHR.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

The intense ignorance among young people on the benefits and importance of family planning and contraception coupled with the existing myths, and misconceptions, along with he barriers to access to accurate and consistent information on FP and SRHR, among young people in Uganda both in rural and urban areas, together with the alarming rates of teenage pregnancies in my country, sparked my passion for family planning.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

Sharing of my knowledge on FP and Contraception with other young people has displayed leadership in family planning work especially during our school outreach especially, community dialogues, and policy debates and meetings. Also my leadership in family planning work has been displayed in the training sessions I have conducted with fellow young people and adults like the LMG training with MSH, Family Planning training with the Uganda Youth Alliance for Family Planning and Adolescent Health.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

If named a winner, I look forward to using this platform to inform myself and my fellow young people in Uganda more about the advanced family planning issues currently trending, and also I hopefully look forward to using this platform to share life stories from Uganda with the whole world to exchange and learn best practices. With the help of the grant, I will be able to further expand our campaign on Keeping girls in school while easily accessing contraceptives with lout fear or descrimination
