Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I have lead the financial management of multiple donor projects in Pakistan to consistently achieve 99-100% spend rates over several project life cycles. I introduced cost management measures resulting in 30% reduction in administrative costs to deliver cost per CYP of £3.9 against target of £5.86. I lead the development of various financial proposals that got awarded. I lead implementation of financial module of ERP in Pakistan in 2015 increasing organizational efficiency. I developed several policies, procedures and internal controls to mitigate risks.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

What sparked my passion is the realization that overpopulation is a core problem of Pakistan and the satisfaction that I am doing my bit towards resolution of this issue in addition to earning a livelihood. When I make budgets, prepare donor reports, assist in project planning and delivery, I take deep satisfaction that my work is contributing towards increasing access to quality FP Products to families across Pakistan.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I have developed collaborative financial management protocols to deliver cost effective and aligned project delivery within allocated funds. These include use of advanced models for project budgeting, fact based decision making on project design, periodic reviews against budgets, responsive accounts teams, etc.
I am currently leading a Compliance Revitalization Plan across Pakistan to develop robust processes and internal controls to ensure donor resources are channeled to the poor fully.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

If named winner, I would like to start an online portal for finance professionals in field of financial management for sharing resources. I would add articles, templates, financial models, SOPs, lessons and would encourage the same from other finance and accounts professionals across the globe.
