Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I do some observations, literature review and discussions, also projects related to family planning especially among young people both married and unmarried, in rural and urban area and engaged with some youth networks and organizations related to SRHR and public health. Work in SRHR area which also studying in life stage of humanbeing always become my passion.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Personal experience at the age of 17, at that time its too difficult and too much worry to decide which clinic/doctor can give youth-friendly health services and information, also not discriminate and bring stigma. Second, I have big passion on this area - since got exposure from various meetings and forums , and supportive environment push me positively to become a youth advocate on SRHR today and future leader tomorrow.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your family planning efforts, and what have you done to overcome it?

young people already involved in developing process but don't forget to also actively involve them in implementation, monitoring and evaluation process. Make them as equal partner no longer only as beneficiaries. Sometimes, some organization did not have any mechanism in how they partnering with young people. So far, I do advocacy as youth leader to speak in front of audience which also include stakeholders, keep in touch among SRHR youth network and together work in grassroot community.

What is your (country/region/city)’s biggest challenge in family planning, and how can it be addressed?

some people in my country thought that when we talk about family planning, we only discuss about married couple and about contraceptive method. Lack of awareness regarding family planning especially on how young people can easily access to youth-friendly health information and services with no stigma. By inviting commitment from all related stakeholders, including youth itself, parents, teacher, health personnel, private and development partner also having policy dialogue among them.

What do you want to accomplish in the next 5 years?

Professionally, I will keep up the advocacy work related to family planning, engage and partnering with more young people, and sharing knowledge and ideas among young leaders in grassroot level. Personally, as a young married woman, I want to prove that a young woman can and have to continue her education as high as she wants and pursue her dream which lead her and her family better family planning
